Comet 30 series torque converter kit driver#
The speed reduction ratio is the ratio of the diameter of the belt in contact with the driver and the driven.

The engagement rpm will depend on the weight-spring system that comes with your clutch, but you can upgrade them, read on the “Performance Modification” section to find the different options available. The belt in the 30 series is asymmetrical meaning one side is nearly flat while the other side has an angle to it while the 40 series belt has symmetry, both sides are equally tapered. The driver units of 30 series come for both 3/4″ and 1″ crankshaft, and the 40 series comes for 7/8″ and 1″ crankshaft diameter. The driven units can come in different diameters and you can change them to your liking to get higher or lower speed reduction ratios, do keep in mind though, if you change the diameter of the driven, you’ll also need to change the belt.

Will update the review when I put it on and use it some. Haven’t had the chance to put it on yet, but the build quality quality seems perfect. The torque converter runs perfectly fine, I have no complaints, the only thing is the bass or copper bushing in the front on the drive shaft wears out a little quicker than I' d prefer, but honestly it' s a great product for the money What size is the bolt that you sent to mount the clutch Posted by Robert Salcedo on 11th Jul 2022 5 What size is the bolt that you sent to mount the.

But if don’t pay attention to the contains list you would be none the wiser. Its not a huge deal since i had a old one. It was as advertised, although in the description on the website it mentions coming with a chain, but in the contains list on the website it says it does not. This makes it possible to force the belt to a diameter within the drive clutch (at high RPM) that exceeds the usual 1:1 ratio of standard systems. The asymmetric concept, having the 18° angle on one side requires less sheave face travel to lift the belt to larger, comparable pitch diameters of the symmetrical system. This offers some very significant advantages to mounting requirements in many cases. Only this system is designed to operate this way, thus providing the proper alignment for the final drive chain to be on the same side of the vehicle as the P.T.O. Here are some reasons for selecting the asymmetrical concept: The Asymmetric concept operates on an in-line principal with the torque sensing cam in an outboard attitude. In this case, the movable sheave face is 18° while the stationary sheave face is 2 1/2° for a collective angle of 20 1/2°. This kit is an asymmetrical type torque converter system, which means the sheave faces are non-symmetrical.
